About us

The Economic Office is responsible for the administration of those funds that are available to the ÖH Uni Wien at all its levels. The comprehensive services and consulting, representation work, projects, events and brochures have to be financed. This is largely done through the payment of the ÖH-fee. The Economic Office is also tasked with raising third-party funds in order to make further services financed by the ÖH Uni Wien.

The available funds are distributed by the Economic Office to the various fields of activity and levels of the ÖH (budget planning). The control of the management and the appropriate use of funds is one of the main tasks of the Economic Office. Together with the accounting department, ongoing records are kept of legal transactions that have an economic impact on the ÖH Uni Wien at all its levels. Apart from the multiple verification of receipts, all disbursements are also processed here.

The Economic Office and the Accounting Department only appear in the background as the administrative body of the ÖH Uni Wien and all its organs. In cooperation with all other employees of the ÖH Uni Wien, they try to handle the necessary bureaucracy as quickly as possible and to keep it simple.

Information for ÖH employees

Important information on charging freelancers (category A - timesheets, consulting work, lump-sum charges):

All accounting sheets for freelance contracts (category A: accounting of working hours or accounting of lump sum) must be completed in full and received by us by the 15th of the following month. Invoice sheets will not be paid out if they are submitted later.

General notice

The submission of billing sheets, invoices, etc. is possible on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 to 16:00, Thursday from 8:30 to 17:00 in the secretary's office in the "Inbox". Please come in person only in case of specific problems and only during the opening hours listed, as we need the rest of the time for back office work.

Billing sheets, invoices, etc. can be left in a sealed envelope with the campus porter (link to campus portier locations, German).

Information about "Funktionsgebühren"

"Funktionsgebühren" are included in the total earnings of each person. This must be taken into account for the upper earnings limit in order not to lose the entitlement to family allowance and study allowance! In January, the total sum of function fees in the previous year is reported to the tax office, this is counted as "other income" according to § 29 Abs. 4 EStG of the respective person. Whoever thereby exceeds the upper earnings limit for the respective year must pay back that part of the family allowance already received that exceeds the additional earnings limit. Note this and take it into account in the calculation of your maximum additional earnings.
