Accessibility statement

The Hochschüler_innenschaft at the University of Vienna is committed to making its websites accessible in compliance with the Federal Act on Accessible Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act - WZG) BGBl. I. No. 59/2019 as amended, to ensure barrier-free access.

This accessibility declaration applies to oeh.unive.ac.at

Compliance status

This website partially complies with Conformance Level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1" and the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) as required by Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible due to the reasons mentioned:

a) Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • The content of the carousel on the homepage is partially obscured when using vertical orientation in mobile applications or when text is enlarged (200%) (1.3.4, 1.4.4, 1.4.10).
  • Most form inputs have programmatically-determined labels but lack standardized autofill functions (1.3.5).
  • While text can be enlarged, doing so increases the header's size, making it difficult to read the content (1.4.4).
  • Some flyers and document previews mainly consist of text, which is either available in textual form on the website or, in the case of document previews, can be opened separately (1.4.5).
  • Keyboard operability has some deficiencies in tables and the carousel (2.1.1).
  • Some English and Spanish translations are present on the German version of the website, and sometimes, English expressions within German text are not marked as such (3.1.2).
  • The contact forms have inconsistent functionality. Some forms include a "Preview" button at the end, allowing users to check inputs and correct errors, while others only have a "Submit" button without error control (3.2.4, 3.3.4).
  • Error messages in forms are not semantically associated (3.3.1, 3.3.3).
  • There are a few minor validation errors (4.1.1).
  • Not all documents on our website are accessible.

If you require information about content that is not accessible, please contact oeh@oeh.univie.ac.at.

The evaluation of the website's compliance with the WZG to meet the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 is conducted through a self-assessment based on WCAG 2.1 at the AA conformance level. The web editorial team regularly checks individual page content when new content is published.
