Current Call for Papers, Illustrations, Comics and Photographs – Extended until October 19, 2025
Topic of the next issue:
Que(e)rformat
Dear future authors, illustrators, comic artists and photographers!
For our next magazine, we are looking for exciting and diverse contributions – both in text form and artistic design. We look forward to receiving your texts, photos, illustrations, and comics on the topic of queerness, which this time will be at the center of the magazine entitled “Que(e)rformat.”
For inspiration, you might ask yourself questions such as:
How does queerness manifest in everyday life? At demonstrations? At parties? What is the legal situation in Austria and internationally? Which queer identities are visible in the media? How is queerness represented in film, music, or literature? And how has the history of queer visibility evolved?
This topic offers enough space for a wide range of perspectives – from political analyses and everyday observations to personal experiences. All text forms are welcome. The length can vary between 3,000–4,000 or 7,000–8,000 characters (including spaces).
Both published texts and artistic contributions (illustrations, comics, photographs) will, of course, be compensated.
We look forward to receiving a variety of submissions on this topic!
Please send the following by October 19, 2025, to zeitgenossin@oeh.univie.ac.at:
- your article concept (max. 1,000 characters including spaces; please no finished texts) or
- sample images, portfolio, or website,
- and a few thoughts on your concept (for articles, please also include notes on text form, length, structure, and perspective).
Please make sure to respect the deadline – we can’t wait to see your creative contributions! :)
With love,
your zeitgenossin editorial team
Emma, Charlotte, Miriam, Pia-Katharina
